I found all of following planters on Etsy, and two things are important to note:
Is it an aesthetic? A style? A breaking of the rules? Remaking the rules? Quirky, fun, irreverent, cool?
Yes.
Geekorating is all of these things in any given combination.
And, while a Star Trek themed home theater may be awesome, such recreations aren't what this blog is about.
It's about including geeky elements in your every day home decor, because geeks run the entire spectrum from convention-going cosplayers to people who just love sci-fi books or movies. And then there are the partners and families of geeks. They don't always appreciate what they see as excessive.
In upcoming blog posts I'll be sharing ways to incorporate geek life into your interior decorating. Just because you have nice drapes or the perfect mid-century modern furniture, it doesn't mean you can't visibly and prominently share your geeky passions. You might be surprised at some of the things that are available.
After all, geek is now chic.
